Cpl Grover Peavy is the patrol leader with SSgt Hampton tagging along on this patrol in Happy Valley, 102 hours with three sightings of 50 VC/NVA. The patrol called one fire mission resulting in 3 KIA confirmed and 4 KIA probable. There was no contact.

Members of Corporal Grover W Peavy, patrol were:

SSgt Phil Hampton, they will work together on five Recon patrols. SSgt Phil Hampton will be the back up patrol leader on this patrol in Happy Valley. SSgt Hampton will be WIA June 3rd, 1968 on hill 200 and he will recover and return to Bravo Company in September of 68 to work on more patrols. 

PFC Whiting, will appear on two patrol reports with Corporal Peavy before being WIA on hill 200 on June 3rd, 1968.

PFC Jeffery S Patterson, worked with Cpl Grover W Peavy on two patrols in Vietnam in 1968. PFC Patterson will eventually be killed in action on that shithole (Hill 200) June 3rd, 1968.

LCpl Bowland, will appear on two patrol reports with Corporal Peavy in 1st Recon. 

LCpl Vollett, worked with Cpl Peavy on five patrols in 1968 before Cpl Grover Wayne Peavy leaving Bravo Company in June of 1968.

PFC Michael J Beck, will appear on two patrol reports with Cpl Peavy in 1968. PFC Beck, will eventually be killed on hill 200 on June 3rd, 1968.

PFC Terrance E Edgar, will appear on four patrol reports with Corporal Grover Peavy before being killed on hill 200 on June 3rd, 1968.

PFC  Gerold Jerome McAdams, will appear on five patrol reports with Corporal Peavy before being killed on hill 200 on June 3rd, 1968.

PFC Ahrews, only appear on this patrol report with Cpl Peavy in Bravo Company.

PVT McDowell, worked with Corporal Peavy two times on patrol in 1st Recon.

Corpsman HM3 Earl R Lerch, back from wounds received in The Tinh Yen River area on March 24th, 1968. This will be the last time these best of friends will be on patrol together. Corpsman Earl Lerch will eventually be killed in action on his patrol on Hill 200 June 3rd, 1968.

 

"PFC Jeffery S Patterson, PFC Terrance E Edgar, PFC McAdams, LCpl Michael J Beck & Corpsman Earl Lerch" worked with Corporal Grover W Peavy on this patrol in Happy Valley and they also worked together on other patrols in 1st Recon Battalion. They all become very good friends in the short time they were in Bravo Company in 1968. Patterson, Edgar, McAdams, Beck and Corpsman Earl Lerch will  be killed in action on Hill 200 on their patrol on June 3rd, 1968. This one event on Hill 200 will alter and change Corporal Grover W Peavy life forever.
