Members of Lance corporal Jim Southall's 8th patrol were:

Cpl J. A. Mattson, will work with Jim two more times on patrols 9-10.

PFC  Whiting  will work with Jim two more times on patrols 9-10 before he is wounded in action (WIA) on hill 200 and sent home.

PFC Michael J Beck will work with Jim two more time on patrols 9-10 before being killed on hill 200 on June 3rd, 1968.

PFC Charles F Huff  will appear on two more patrol reports with Jim Southall before being killed on hill 200 on June 3rd, 1968.

Lieutenant David B Ludwig only worked this one time on patrols with Jim Southall. David worked in Bravo Company February through September of 1968.

Corpsman Kenny, this patrol is the last time they worked together on patrol.

Sergeant Mullen only worked this one patrol with Jim.

Cpl Joyce only worked this one patrol with Jim Southall in 1st Recon.

Dave's focus during his business career has been to bring value to his clients and to help improve their business, especially a client's revenue.

Dave has extensive experience in sales and sales management to include 13 years in local television sales with Hearst Broadcasting (WTAE-TV, Pittsburgh) and Fisher Broadcasting (KATU-TV, Portland, Oregon). Dave left broadcasting to become a Partner and Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Broadcast Management Plus (BMP). BMP was the first supplier of PC software that analyzed the Nielsen television ratings data for local television stations. BMP merged with its sister company, Media Management Plus and sold to US WEST.

In 1989 Dave purchased Newspaper Advertisers Report (NAR), which later became Ludwig & Associates, Inc. The NAR service was a database of advertisers' newspaper use on a market-by-market basis. In addition, Ludwig & Associates, Inc. planned, developed and executed over 250 integrated marketing campaigns with television stations nationwide. The multi platform campaigns utilized the broadcast, digital and print media along with a promotional element.

During his career Dave has worked with most major television broadcast groups to include Hearst Television, Belo Corporation, LIN, Meredith, CBS Owned & Operated and Gannett. Dave is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Secondary Education/English. Prior to starting his business career he was a high school English teacher and wrestling coach and an infantry officer in the US Marine Corps. Dave is a news and history junkie, loves cycling, swimming, skiing and golf, enjoys the superb cooking of his wife, Ellen, and drinks Oregon's great Pinot Noirs!
