Thank you again Bill this is the first time I have been able to put a face to all who died.

And sorry for miss understanding I thought you knew Dave. It means a lot knowing you all waited and didn’t leave them even though it was around a radio you cared. And your right you and I will never ever forget.

Our emails crossed wavelengths.

I did not know David. I was with HMM-263 in avionics and in the hangar the day of the incident.

All night we were huddled around the radios listening for information. It was not until the next day that we learned of the crash.

Follow the link: https://1streconbn.org/rush-act-tribute.html on the forwarded email. I am sure someone there can assist you with finding anyone.

Also contact all on the forwarded email and ask questions. I am sure you will get responses.

Bill

Bill,

So glad to hear from you I have often thought about you wondering if you were ok.
We made it through the Covid just fine, Russ never missed a day of work. He drives shuttle for one of the car dealerships three days a week. He comes in contact with a lot of people so we thank God he took care of us.
Yes I know what you mean about getting old it’s hell.
Are most of the guys gone now that knew Dave?  I lost my cousin that kept in contact with some, he knew what was going on so much better than me, am I a shamed yes. But there isn’t a day go by that I don’t think about Dave and my Mom and Dad.
Well Bill I do hope you feel better and have the best Thanksgiving and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year.
Thanks so much for remembering Dave and keeping in touch. It means a lot.
May God Bless
Deb

I hope you are well and have survived Covid.

I recently learned my best friend from my Marine days has passed away. He is the last connection I have from those days.

We were in school together in Jacksonville, Fla, then stationed at Tustin, Ca, and finally at Marble Mountain, RVN.

When we came back he went to New River, NC and I went back to Tustin.

I saw him several times over the years when I was passing through Texas.

I have gotten old, and I don’t like it. The knees hurt, the memory lapses, the eye sight is failing, the hearing is less acute … and the list goes on.

But the memory of that day remains sharp and focused.

Such a horrible, horrible waste!!

David is not forgotten.

Bill
