Friend and brother Marine
Pete, I remember our days at Murphy High like they were yesterday. Your brother was in Nam when we were seniors. Your accident meant you could not leave for boot camp with the rest of us, yet you were taken from us before I even got orders for WesPac. I miss you bro.

Last Known Activity

"Pete" Gill was a member of the 1st Platoon, Alpha Co., First Recon Battalion. He served his country proudly during a time our nation was being torn apart by an unpopular war. "Pete" made the ultimate sacrifice while defending his team from an enemy attack on the top of a hill in Quang Nam Province.

"Pete" was a well respected by his fellow Marines and a great friend to his team members.

"Pete" was taken from us at a very young age, but will be with us spiritually always.

MY UNCLE
Pete was my uncle. He was born on sept 20, the same day I earned my 1st Purple in Beirut 1984. I have now earned my 2nd in Iraq. My Uncle's memories have sustained me through 22 years of service and to his fellow marines, I salute each and every one of you. As I retire, I will always cherish my memories of Pete. Thank you all for being his friend and for fighting along side him. Semper Fi.

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER
It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.
