Rest in Peace Gil

Autumn Rain

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am that swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

a toast to Gil Perez.

A toast with champagne to you, my brother "Gil Perez one hell of a Marine" took place at the Bravo Company reunion on the Marine Corps Birthday Wednesday November 10th, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lucille,

Thanks for all the photos. I'll update Gil's webpages soon.
Thinking of you during this difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Sending a big hug your way.

Floyd

He was in Recon after me but it’s always sad when a brother passes.  I pray for comfort for the family as they move through the grieving process.  Fair winds and following seas, brother.

Cheers; Bill

He came this way but once. Yet, he touched our lives in many ways while he were here. We shall remain eternally grateful for his friendship and for the influence he bestowed upon us.

Hey Floyd,
Just wanted to know how your recovery is going. We're all getting older my friend, we can go to war over everything but there is no winning the war against time.
I hope your recovery is going well. I started radiation treatment for skin cancer a week ago. LMAO when they said the hair won't grow back. Hair hasn't grown on my head for decades. 😂😂😂
So sorry to hear of Gil's passing. Eventually, all of 1st Recon will be at attention again.
