Ciro Antimo Viento

We give thanks for Ciro Antimo Viento's life.

After They Are Gone

When someone we love passes away,
We ache, but we go on;
Our dear departed would want us to heal,
After they are gone.

Grief is a normal way to mend
The anguish and pain in our hearts;
We need time to remember and time to mourn,
Before the recovery starts.

Let's draw together to recuperate,
As we go through this period of sorrow;
Let's help each other, with tender care
To find a brighter tomorrow.

REMEMBRANCES

Remembering An American Hero

.

Never Forgotten

Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

From your Nam-Band-Of-Brothers

Thank You!

You have no idea how much your sacrifice is being appreciated. You are a true hero in the eyes of many people.  This beautiful country will never forget your bravery. Thank you so much for everything! God Bless You!

He came this way but once. Yet, he touched our lives in many ways while he were here. We shall remain eternally grateful for he's friendship and for the influence he bestowed upon us.

EULOGY FOR A VETERAN

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there I do not sleep,
I am the thousand winds that Blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain,
When you waken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

Thank you Sir. I have attached some photos. My father was a Corpsman attached to 1st Recon Bn. Alpha Co. he was awarded the Silver Star and 2 Purple Hearts. I don’t know of any stories to add, but I do know that he thought about his time in Vietnam and his lost comrades everyday of his life. Especially September 20th when he lost Cpl Frank James Montez and five days later lost PFC Charles Goldmeyer. Both were KIA from a patrol that took place September 20.
